About

Emily Ingram grew up in rural Nebraska, a land of dirt roads, county fairs and family farms. Now a senior news-editorial and advertising major at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, Emily has worked for print, Web and broadcast news outlets over the past four years.

This summer, she will spend two weeks in Florida for the Poynter College Fellowship program before starting a 12-week internship as a Web producer at The Washington Post.

Emily will be available for full-time work starting in September.

For the last two semesters, Emily ran a campus bureau for ABC News out of New York, covering Midwest news for a national audience and overseeing four other student reporters. Prior to that, she had interned at three daily newpapers as a copy editor or designer.

An avid Twitter user, Emily is also active in the Online News Association and the American Copy Editors Society, serving as president of UNL's chapter. Last spring, UWIRE named her among the top 100 student journalists in the nation.
